FIFTY IS NIFTY TRIP REPORT
Wow, what a great weekend! We were very lucky to have great weather to celebrate the 50th birthdays for
Andrew,
Amanda,
Trevor,
Liz,
Rob
and Sandra
with many members and their families coming along to help make it a special occasion.
Everyone made their way up to Willowbrook Farm Caravan Park during Saturday with members arriving there from 9.30 am. We all took time to explore around the park and enjoy a few bevvies. The kids had a great time playing and I am sure Thomas was training for the Tour De France with the amount of times he rode his bike around the roads within the caravan park.
As the afternoon wore on everyone started to prepare their dish for the dinner. At 4.40pm we headed over to the cattle yards for the kids (small and big) to hand feed the sheep, longhorn cattle and llama. The kids were also treated to a ride in the 4 wheel motorbike by the managers of the park which they thoroughly enjoyed.
About 6.00pm soup was served for entre followed by a fantastic array of main courses.
Aunty Jan (Hanks) handed out little presents to those of us joining the 50’s club.
Dessert included a birthday cake which was somehow cut with 6 hands on the knife (and no one was hurt in the process).
We spent the rest of the evening chatting and sitting around the fire with some seeing in the early hours of Sunday.
Sunday morning the managers of the caravan park put on a yummy morning tea of fresh scones with cream and locally made jam.
Everyone slowly packed up and headed back home into the approaching clouds. Hopefully everyone packed up before any rain hit.
