After a fantastic Hungi weekend 10 vehicles made their way home via a more scenic route.
We started up with 9 vehicles forming up at the Wandering Farm In and making our way out of the farm and on our way to the beginning of our track. At this point we met up with Winfried who drove out from Perth to meet with us.
From there we aired down and started our scenic drive. This track is known as the East of Armadale Track and details are available in the Western 4WDriver Magazine, Day Trips from Perth.
It wasn’t long before we found our first bit of mud and after talking Vicki (aka Pepper Pig) out of attempting a large mud hole she made her way through the easier way without any issues, however following Vicki followed Michael who was not so lucky and was stuck fast. Ian helped recover him and the rest of the convoy made their way through without any issues.
We continued our way enjoying the track and all the time with me trying to remember which way to go. After a bit of banter, I finally made a mistake and lead the convoy down the wrong track ending up a large water hole. Knowing this was the wrong way we turned around parked up for lunch. At this point Vicki was devastated that we were not going to go through the water hole, so attempted the side of it just because she could and nearly came stuck. Luckily, she was able to free herself.
After lunch we made our way back to the point where I had led us down the wrong path and continued along the correct track which looked much more familiar. From that point we made our way along the track attempting and going around various water holes and obstacles until we got to the end of the track.
Once we aired up, we said our goodbyes as half the convoy was heading back to Wandering to pick up cars and caravans, the rest of us made our way home on the Brookton Hwy.
Overall we all had a great time on a track that had a bit of everything.
