Koorda Drive In Weekend Trip Report
22-23rd June 2019.
For those of us brave enough to venture out on a wet weekend to the country we were rewarded with an amazing sunny Saturday and a dry night to be able to see the movie at the drive in with no wipers or heating needed.
Saturday started with a cloudy drizzly day in Perth as we headed out, 2 vehicles from Kelmscott then collected another car at Mundaring and after a country drive through the back roads we finally got to Koorda to meet up with another two campers. So with 5 cars ready to go to the drive in we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the Koorda caravan park.
We headed to the drive ins with blankets and pillows in the car and had dinner at their diner which is manned by the P&C staff. Great hot-dogs, hamburgers and chips followed by free popcorn. There weren’t many cars at MIB this weekend as they had shown it last weekend with Aladdin and had 300 people attend then. So lucky us had the pick of spaces as there was only 10 cars in total.
It was great to be back sitting in the car watching a movie again, felt like we did in our teenage years (just no snogging). We will definitely have to do it again with some kids in tow and two movies playing.
Once finished we headed back to camp and had a night cap then off to bed. The rain hit during the night and stayed around through out the morning with enough stops to pack down.
Thank you to those who attended it was a very relaxing weekend and we will be back Koorda.
