Trip Report
Sun Sand & Surf – 7 January 2018
The day started off sunny and fine with 10 vehicles meeting at Byford. After a leisurely drive to White Hills we let down our tyres and met up with a couple of visitors.
It seems from the moment we hit the beach the sea breeze decided to let us know that it was in. We drove south 4- 5 km to find a suitable spot to stop away from the exposed reef that was suitable for swimming.
As the breeze became stronger and the waves grew a brave few, mainly the kids, swam. Most of us managed to keep out of the wind. It was great to see the members and visitors all mingling and showing off their vehicles to each other.
After lunch we continued south along the beach towards Preston Beach. Here we pumped up tyres while the kid, big and small, enjoyed a Zoopa Doopa icy pole. Most headed back towards home from here at their own pace stopping to check out places of interest along the way.
Thanks to everyone who came along
