Lake Brockman Camp-out 2017
Trip Report
ATTENDANCE:
Horrie, Jacob, Aleeya, Carlo, Michael and Saffia, John and Andrea, Glen and Sandra, Dennis Diane and Owen, Peter Perryman, Trevor Harding, Neville D`vauz (visitor).
We left the meeting point around 11:20am headed for Pinjarra Bakery for a quick bite. Back on the road and some of us were stopped for a RBT.
We all turned left onto Logue Brook Dam road except for Dennis & Diane as they missed the turn off. Not sure who was in front of them (they need to be fined). We pulled into the camping spot in front of the lake not far from the toilet block. Once we were all set up the kids and a few adults gathered firewood. Neville arrived once the fire was up & running!
Trevor had a go at fishing but no bites. Then a goose decided to come pay us a visit. Peter made friends with it and they made a good match. LOL! The funniest thing that happened that weekend was John dropped his lamb roast in the fire. They lost most of the vegies but saved the meat. John knew he was in trouble just by Andrea`s silence!
That night the kids played spotlight while we all sat around the fire drinking and laughing. I tried to keep up with Peter (drinking) again and came out worst off in the morning. I’ll have to remember not to do that again next time. Dennis must have had too much to drink as he took another person’s chair to his camper and then he fell over and hurt his elbow.
In the morning after packing up, Peter, Michael and Saffia were the first to leave. Then that goose came looking for Peter. (He loved it & left it.) LOL! I felt sorry for the goose, so I gave the kids bread and told them to feed it.
All in all it was a good night and great weather to match.
